Bryant Named to Leadership Posts

Rep. Terri Bryant Named to Two Leadership Posts

Springfield…State Rep. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) was named to two leadership positions this week.
First, Bryant was selected to serve as Vice Chairman of the Downstate Republican Caucus. The Chairman of the Downstate Republican Caucus is State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer of Jacksonville.
“The Downstate Republican Caucus is pleased to welcome State Representative Terri Bryant as Vice Chair. Terri Bryant will bring a strong voice to the Downstate Caucus. Terri’s district, much like mine, is home to a great variety of natural resources, private industry, and public employment opportunities. I have no doubt that Representative Bryant will be a powerful voice for the 115th District and our shared downstate values.” Davidsmeyer said.

For her part, Bryant says she was honored to receive the support of her fellow Downstate Caucus colleagues.

“I’m very proud to have been named Vice Chair of the Downstate Republican Caucus. As Vice Chair I can really elevate my voice and stand up for the values of the people of my district, and for all the people of southern Illinois. I’m truly honored and humbled to have the privilege to serve in this capacity,” Bryant said.

The Downstate Republican Caucus meets regularly in Springfield, bringing together State Representatives from a large geographic territory that extends from Rockford to the southeast and southwest corners of Illinois.

Bryant also made news this week after being named as a Member of the Board of the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, a legislative group dedicated to protecting 2nd Amendment rights, and advancing the interests of anglers, hunters, trappers, and target shooters.

“As a member of the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, I will work closely with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to communicate sportsmen’s views on hunting and fishing seasons, as well as fight to expand opportunities for kids and adults to promote and preserve Illinois sportsmen’s traditions,” Bryant said.
